Notable specimens: Angiopteris, which have the largest known fronds of any fern; filmy ferns (Hymenophyllum spp.), whose leaves are generally only one cell thick; Pteris adscensionis, one of only seven remaining endemic plant species on Ascension Island; and Selaginella willdenowii, an iridescent species
